Resort Overview
Mount Snow Is located in Southern Vermont along historic Route 100 and offers skiers and riders a quick trip to one of Vermont's oldest and most innovative resorts.
Founded in 1954 by National Ski & Snowboard Hall of Famer, Walter Schoenknecht, Mount Snow quickly became one of the most recognizable ski resorts in the world. Today, Mount Snow features four unique mountain faces each with it's own identity and features. Mount Snow also boasts one of the most powerful, and energy efficient snowmaking systems in the country with over 250 SMI Fan Guns scattered across our 'Premium' trails. New for 2011/2012 is North America's only high speed detachable six passenger bubble lift, which cuts the lift ride time to the summit in half to just seven minutes compared to the fixed grip triple it replaced.
The Main Mountain, facing east, features the widest array of terrain with wide open cruisers such as Snowdance and Ridge as well as your traditional New England style, narrow, natural 'Classic' trails like Uncle's, Hop, and Shootout.
The North Face features Mount Snow's most challenging terrain with 10 black diamond trails, glades and two dedicated triple chairs. Plummet, Jaws, Olympic and Chute are local favorites, while the double black diamond trail Ripcord and the adjacent woods provide some of the steepest terrain in New England.
The south facing Sunbrook features an array of intermediate terrain basking in the sun. Thanks Walt, Cloud Nine and The Dippers can all be accessed from the summit and the Sunbrook Quad. Spring mogul skiers flock to Beartrap and its dedicated double chair, complete with music pumping on the lift tower mounted speakers.
Carinthiais home to New England's #1 Terrain Park system featuring ten parks including two pipes, three lifts and a dedicated base lodge for freestyle enthusiasts. Home to "the evolution of park" philosophy, Carinthia is the perfect area for all ability levels from beginners to pros. Those looking to learn can experience ourGrommet Park with extra small features before taking to any of our other parks likeNitro, Prospector or theGulch. Top level skiers and riders can experience Inferno - the only terrain park on Earth to host both theESPN Winter X Games and Winter Dew Tour.
Vacationers can stay in a number of established B&Bs, inns, and hotels throughout the Mount Snow Valley. Stay slopeside in the luxurious Grand Summit Resort Hotel & Conference Center, a "Green Hotel in the Green Mountains" for energy efficiency. The hotel houses 197 guest rooms of varying size and is loaded with amenities including the naturespa and health club, outdoor heated pool, outdoor jacuzzi, Harrimans restaurant, Grand Country Deli, and our flagship retail store Mount Snow Sports.
Scattered across our three base areas you'll find 19 different restaurants and cafeterias including sit down restaurants Cuzzins, Station Tap Room and the brand new 1900' Burger. Cuzzins is your number one après destination with the wacky antics of Bruce Jacques every Saturday. The Snow Barn features live music Saturday nights all winter long and some of the best pizza in town.
For other activities check out our ten lane tubing hill, High Country Snowmobile Tours, snowshoeing, dog sledding and plenty of other fun activities up and down scenic route 100.
