Okemo Bicycle Hill Climb

A challenging 5.8 mile uphill bike race to the top of Okemo Mountain along Route 103 and Mountain Road. The event is based at Jackson Gore Village. This is the fourth year for this event and it is affiliated with the Bike Up Mountain Points Series (BUMPS), a series of nine uphill races held throughout New England. Through the bike climb, the Ludlow Rotary hopes to increase community awareness and support research for Multiple Sclerosis.

Red, White & Blues Festival

Okemo Mountain Resort celebrates Independence Day with an all-American concert featuring popular blues artists. Admission is free and music starts at noon. The lawn in the courtyard at Okemo’s Jackson Gore Inn will be transformed into an outdoor concert venue for the day. Families are welcome, and all attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or picnic blankets. Okemo’s culinary staff will be serving frosty-cold beverages and fresh-from-the-grill burgers, hot dogs, pulled pork sandwiches and more. Okemo Mountain Challenge

1000 runners participate in a 10 mile or 5k race that starts at the base of Okemo Mountain and features two climbs to the mountain’s summit before returning back to the base. Run mostly on grass and trails, the 10 mile includes 9,000 feet of elevation change. The 5k is a run to the summit, with transportation to the base provided after the race. A portion of the proceeds benefit local, non-profit organizations. Awards will be presented at a post-race barbecue with live entertainment. Okemo’s 4th Annual Hops in the Hills Brew Festival and Vermont Chicken Wing Championship

Okemo Mountain Resort hosts a beer festival from 1 to 6 p.m., on Sat., August 4. Jackson Gore will be the setting for enjoying the great outdoors while sampling a variety of beers from local and regional brewers. Local artists will provide live musical accompaniment to the beer tasting and local restaurants will vie for the title of Okemo Valley Chicken Wing Champion. Okemo is the finish line for the eighth annual running of this relay race that ends with a great party at Okemo’s Ice House at Jackson Gore.
