20th Annual Mount Snow Brewers Festival

This summer the renowned celebration of beer, music and food celebrates its 20th anniversary on Labor Day weekend much to the delight of visitors that have made it their yearly tradition. The Mount Snow Brewers Festival has become one of the premier events of its kind in the Northeast, and we are expecting more than 30 different breweries to be on-hand pouring their beers and ciders from almost 90 different taps with live music and great food all weekend long.

The Jeff Touhy Band will once again be rocking the event tent on Saturday and more live music is to be announced for Sunday. Tons of food vendors will keep your appetite satisfied and the 1900' VIP Pub will once again be offering exclusive beers, great food and a private venue for discerning beer festival goers.

Vermont Wine and Harvest Festival

On Friday night, the preview tasting of Vermont wines and cheeses is blended into a Village Stroll in the center of Wilmington. Those wanting to just enjoy the evening in the village can listen to outdoor entertainers and everyone is eligible to judge the Vermont Soup Contest. Soup samples and the ballot to vote are free. The wine tastings are $7 per person, featuring three Vermont wineries and a sampling of the Grafton Village Cheese Company’s specialties, which have been handmade in Vermont since 1892.

On Saturday and Sunday, the Festival events shift to nearby West Dover, where it is tucked in beside the landmark clocktower building, nestled under the ridgelines of the 3,600 foot peak of Mount Snow. There’s just a hint of an Italian Alps feel to the setting. The gigantic festival tents, where admission is $15 for one day or $26 for a two-day pass, cover a huge open space that is typically buried in snow all winter long. It’s just a few yards from the lifts at the popular Mount Snow Resort. As soon as the tables and booths are set up and the decorations are complete, it becomes clear that the Vermont Wine and Harvest Festival is no ordinary event. For one thing, the camaraderie among the various growers and winemakers who come from all over the state makes the festival feel like a great family reunion.

17th Annual Mount Snow Oktoberfest

Like most German-themed Oktoberfest events, the 17th Annual Mount Snow Oktoberfest will have plenty of beer, schnitzel and Oom-pah music; but throw in kids games, pumpkin painting, an apple sling shot and the famous “schnitzel toss” and you’ve got two days of fun for the whole family! A Columbus Day Weekend tradition since 1997, the Mount Snow Oktoberfest is one of our signature festivals and was named a 2014 Top 10 Fall Event by the Vermont Chamber of Commerce.

The Kid’s Zone is where families will find festival games like the beanbag toss, a huge bouncy house, pumpkin painting and other kid-friendly activities. While the young ones are playing, the big kids can enjoy a large selection of beers from at least 25 different German and domestic breweries as well as authentic German fare served out of Der Markeplatz in the Main Base Lodge and the sausage roast outside of Cuzzins. Plus, try your hand at games like the keg toss, yodeling contest and stein holding as well as a horseshoe tournament.

Scenic Chair Rides on the Bluebird Express

Enhance your Oktoberfest experience by taking a ride to the 3,600-foot summit of Mount Snow aboard North America’s only six passenger bubble lift – Bluebird Express. Often referred to as “flying couches”, the Bluebird’s chairs comfortably seat six adults for a smooth ride to the top where you will disembark and have an opportunity to explore the alpine environment. Be sure to bring your camera for some photo ops on the observation deck of the Summit Lodge! Purchase your scenic chair ride tickets at the Clocktower Building, Toll Haus or Mount Snow Sports at the Grand. Save yourself some time and purchase your scenic ride tickets at the window when you pick up your Oktoberfest tickets so you can go right from the festival grounds up the lift. For chairlift schedule, go here.

The Bullwheel restauarant and bar in the Summit Lodge will be open all weekend long serving great food and unique beers on tap.
