    Okemo Bicycle Hill Climb

    A challenging 5.8 mile uphill bike race to the top of Okemo Mountain along Route 103 and Mountain Road. The event is based at Jackson Gore Village. This is the fourth year for this event and it is affiliated with the Bike Up Mountain Points Series (BUMPS), a series of nine uphill races held throughout New England. Through the bike climb, the Ludlow Rotary hopes to increase community awareness and support research for Multiple Sclerosis.

    Okemo Mountain Resort celebrates Independence Day with an all-American concert featuring popular blues artists. Admission is free and music starts at noon.     Jeep® Jamborees are off-road adventure weekends that bring together the outdoors, down-to-earth people and their Jeep 4x4s. These off-road treks have a long tradition dating back to 1953 when 4x4 pioneer Mark A. Smith organized the first ever Jeep Jamboree and voyaged across the Sierra Nevada Mountains by way of the old Rubicon Trail. In 1954, Willys Motors — then manufacturer of Jeep vehicles — became involved with the adventure, and Jeep Jamborees have been an off-road tradition ever since.

    Okemo Mountain Challenge

    1000 runners participate in a 10 mile or 5k race that starts at the base of Okemo Mountain and features two climbs to the mountain’s summit before returning back to the base. Run mostly on grass and trails, the 10 mile includes 9,000 feet of elevation change. The 5k is a run to the summit, with transportation to the base provided after the race. A portion of the proceeds benefit local, non-profit organizations. Awards will be presented at a post-race barbecue with live entertainment.     The Firm Racing Triathlon

    Warm days and cool nights in a rustic mountain setting makes Vermont a wonderful destination location for a multisport festival featuring the Stratton Mountain Triathlon, a sprint distance triathlon that lets you swim, bike, and run in one of the prettiest parts of the USA. The half mile swim takes place in Stratton Mountain's Snow Pond. In the winter, this man made pond produces snow when mother nature doesn't. In the summer, it is a wonderful setting for a triathlon swim. The bike course is classic New England cycling-- over hills and past farms dotting the countryside. The run follows a dirt road beside the mountain before finishing under the huge F.I.R.M. arch.
