James Taylor Headlines New Year's Eve in Vermont
Folk hero James Taylor is coming to Vermont.
As part of its grand opening, the Spruce Peak Performing Arts Center at Stowe Mountain Resort will host a special New Year's Eve benefit concert by the 5-time Grammy-winning singer/songwriter, who will be accompanied by a cellist and a few vocalists. Proceeds from the show will benefit the Spruce Peak Arts Center Foundation to help stage live and multimedia performances.
The show starts at 8pm. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased online at www.sprucepeakarts.org or at www.stowe.com.
The arts center is the latest in a series of updates and modifications to the Spruce Peak area of Stowe. Developed to operate year-round as a major component of the resort, the center will host theatre,music, dance, comedy, film and lectures.
Several other resorts around Vermont will host family-friendly New Year's Eve celebrations. Killington and Mount Snow will both be hosting parties at their hotel ballrooms that include dancing and midnight champagne (or cider for the kiddies) toasts. Okemo will host an early evening party from 6:30 - 9pm with skating, snowshoe tours, horse and wagon rides and DJ-fueled party at the Roadhouse.
