MAP!
Welcome, welcome to the south side of Bolton Mountain
For an exploration in motion where water runs like a fountain
As you leave the Center you are 2000 ft high from the sea
Once passed the pine tree portal head straight towards the tributary
Do you see maple buds glowing with a hue close to red?
Take a right up Broadway for a brief curve around the bend
You will cross the water way above and pass yellow birches in boreal shine
Enjoy the cruise down to the pump house where water is shuttled over to alpine
Can you hear the water trickle as you pause?
Turn around and head back up for a different view because
Soon you will go right onto Pond Loop trail, where amphibians lay in torpor nearby
Sleeping in mud, hearts slowed to survive
Nearby a red fox often wanders, searching for prey
Can you see its x tracks; its furred paws have much to say
As you pass by the pond above which the Challenge Course stands
How thick do you wonder the ice is in its space?
As you reenter Broadway and glide South east
Do you see in the distance Camel’s Hump peak?
Follow above and along the rambling creek
And arrive back to the center to share your seek
Relax, stretch out, and receive your award
For a job well done where neat discoveries were scored!
