Events Take Front Stage at Mount Snow
Mount Snow has released their event calendar for the 10/11 winter season and it’s clear that the mountains focus is creating an atmosphere of non-stop fun for everyone. Mount Snow will host children’s events, pro level freestyle competitions, family targeted competitions and so much more.
The year begins with a focus on family, including a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus during the November 27th Torchlight Parade and Fireworks. Mount Snow rings in the New Year in many ways with the family First Night banquet at the Grand Summit Hotel, a New Year’s Eve Bash at the Snow Barn for the 21+ crowd and the first of three Grommet Jams on New Year’s Day. January 8th sees the return of the Red Bull Buttercup and the next day is the popular Youth Pay Their Age Day.
February features a variety of events ranging from Southern Vermont alpine racing to USASA Snowboarding competitions. Valentine’s Day brings special promotions for lover’s looking for a quiet getaway and the focus is on family during President’s Week with live entertainment and family events all week long.
Things heat up in March with Mardi Gras on March 5th. Expect great musical guests and beads galore. The Jack Jump World Championships return on the 6th and mark your calendars now for $17 lift tickets on St. Patrick’s Day. Between the USSA Revolution Tour (March 14-18) and Carinthia Open (March 18-20) Carinthia dominates the freestyle scene for a week long stretch. Freestyle’s future Olympians will be out in full force at both of these heated competitions. Of course you can’t round out the spring season at Mount Snow without Reggaefest on the 25th-27th. Music, pond skimming, duct tape sleds and beer make for one of the most action packed weekends of fun on the east coast.
While some people might start to think about packing away the winter gear Mount Snow is just getting started in early April. The 1st through the 3rd is the Mountain Dew Vertical Challenge Finals. Thousands of competitors who qualify from season long events converge at Mount Snow for a weekend of games, giveaways and alpine racing. Then to finally round out a great year it’s the Winter Brewer’s Festival and Glade-iator on April 9th.
Even though the snow won’t be flying anymore in May there are still two great events in May. New to the event calendar is the Tough Mudder on May 7 & 8. Try to tackle the 9 mile run course that weaves up and down our muddy slopes. If that’s not hard enough there are 19 military style obstacle courses in your way. Then on May 28th swing over to Carinthia for the 4th Annual Peace Pipe Jam. Our freestyle terrain groomers will once again transform a pile of left over snow into a freestyle oasis of jumps, rails and jibs.
