-Skiers and Riders Return Again in Fall to Create Winter -
It’s that time of year in Vermont when visitors return to see the fall foliage. And at Magic Mountain, its skiers and riders return each fall not only to see the fall colors take over the Green Mountains, but to help this community-centric ski area open for the winter season. Existing glades are cleaned up, new glades are started, and projects are completed around the lodge. The “Volunteer Day” tradition continues at Magic on the Saturdays of September 21st and October 12th.
“This is part of what makes Magic different,” said Jim Sullivan, President of Magic Mountain. “We approach this not as a corporate entity, but as a dedicated corps of ski and ride enthusiasts who together have an active role in Magic’s future. Clearing out an existing glade or carving a new one helps us create a better experience for everyone this winter.”
About Magic Mountain Ski Area
Magic is southern Vermont’s only independently owned and operated mountain. Different than the corporate resorts, Magic has stayed true to the original Vermont ski culture. Magic skiers and riders enjoy a mountain emphasizing natural, diverse ski terrain in an atmosphere of shared camaraderie for the sport both on the slopes and in the lodge after a long, rewarding day. Magic has an authentic vibe because, in reality, it still remains first and foremost a ski area, not a “resort”—and a distinctly Vermont one at that. It’s a community spirit that keeps Magic thriving for those committed ski and riding enthusiasts who want to “carve their own trail” and experience real snow and obstacles that mother-nature puts on the hill. And, it’s why Magic skiers love the mountain so much that they have personally contributed to enhancing and preserving it for future generations to enjoy through the Magic Faithful Club.
