VANCOUVER, B.C. and EAST BURKE, VT., May 14, 2013 — Norco Bicycles is honored to announce a new exclusive rental agreement with Q Burke Mountain Resort in East Burke, Vermont. For the upcoming 2013 season, the Burke Bike Park rental shop will offer 2013 Norco Aurum, Truax, Shinobi and Sight models to New England thrill seekers.
“The Northeast is home to a mountain biking community that is just as passionate, active and knowledgeable as any other in the world,” says Norco Bicycles VP of Sales and Marketing, Skip Swain. “We see Burke Mountain as a fantastic venue to showcase our range of performance mountain bikes, from our downhill World Cup race bike, the Aurum, to our award winning trail bike, the Sight.”
Q Burke Mountain Resort, located in the northeastern part of Vermont, is known to offer a wide variety of incredible mountain bike terrain to suit riders of all types and abilities. A popular winter ski destination, the resort added a lift-accessed bike park in 2010 to cater to the Northeast’s growing downhill and freeride mountain biking communities. The Burke area is also home to “Kingdom Trails” a multiple-use trail network that Bike Magazine calls, “the best mountain bike trail network in North America.”
Norco Bicycles was established in 1964 in British Columbia, Canada. A successful manufacturer and distributor of bicycles for many years, Norco gained worldwide recognition in the early 90s for its early involvement in the burgeoning “freeride” movement on Vancouver’s North Shore. Today, Norco Bicycles is recognized as an industry leader, offering cyclists world-class riding experiences on both road and dirt.
Q Burke Mountain Resort, is currently part of a $600 million regional economic revitalization initiative spearheaded by Ariel Quiros and Bill Stenger, who also own Jay Peak Resort in Vermont. Through a range of significant investments, including the construction of three new lodges and hotels, a new bike rental, repair and service shop, and expanded bike facilities, the plan is to develop Q Burke Mountain Resort into a successful year-round resort destination.
“Norco Bicycles couldn’t be happier about joining forces with Q Burke Mountain Resort during this exciting time,” says Swain. “The whole vibe at Burke is very down to earth and community-oriented, so it’s a really great fit for our brand. Plus, the riding there is just out of this world!”
“We are very excited about the opportunity to bring Norco bicycles to the Northeast Kingdom and to Q Burke Mountain Resort” says Quiros.
A Grand Opening Event is scheduled for Saturday, June 15 offering free demos, raffle prizes, live music, group rides and heavily discounted bike rentals.
