"Get Your Irish Up!" Big-Air Funfest at Magic

-Big-Air Contest, Live Music & Rando NE Series Race Highlight St Patrick’s Weekend --

March 12, 2013, Londonderry, VT— Magic Mountain gets a jump on St. Patrick’s Day with a weekend of activities beginning on Saturday with the inaugural “Get Your Irish Up!” Big-Air Contest at the base area of Magic. With live après ski music and great viewing from the lodge and deck off the Black Line Tavern, the Big-Air contest is open to all comers from around Vermont to show off their aerial skills. There will be prizes for best jumps with unlimited attempts allowed between 4-6pm. Following the contest, the CRB band hits the stage from 7-10pm to continue the party.

On St. Patrick’s Day, Magic will again host the “Feel the Magic” NE Rando Series Race where the competition skins up and skis down Magic.  Starting at 10am, the competitors follow a course up the East Side of the mountain and then down Red Line (repeating it two more times!). There will then be live après ski music on Sunday to toast the contestants and every one being Irish-for-a-day.

 “Both events show the adventurous side of Magic,” said Geoff Hatheway, Vice President of Marketing for Magic Mountain. “The Big-Air contest is new this year with a jump being built right down by the base lodge so it should be a fun for competitors and spectators alike.”
