PICO MOUNTAIN CELEBRATES 75TH ANNIVERSARY AND LAUCHES $75 VERMONT STUDENT SEASON PASS

All Vermont students, grades K-12, are eligible for the 2012-13 Vermont Student Pass

KILLINGTON, Vt. (September 27, 2012) – In celebration of the 75th Anniversary, Pico Mountain is introducing the 2012-13 Vermont Student Pass for $75* when purchased by December 1, 2012. This pass offers Vermont students, Kindergarten through 12th grade, unlimited access to Pico Mountain's 52 trails for the 2012-13 winter season.

The unlimited Vermont Student Pass is valid every operating day of the 2012-13 season from mid-December through the end of March, weather and snow conditions permitting. Pass holders receive numerous benefits, including discounts on Snow Sports School lessons, food & beverage, retail, lift tickets and Sunday family discounts. Plus, parents of student pass holders can purchase an unlimited My Pico Pass for only $399*.

Additionally, Vermont Student Pass holders can add on a Killington Resort upgrade to their passes for an additional $199* and ski or ride at Killington Resort any day of the 2012-13 season, add a season-long ski/snowboard equipment rental for just $99*, add a Killington Tubing Park for only $19*, or participate in the Junior Explorer Program, a six week long Snow Sports School lesson program.

“Pico Mountain strongly believes that every youth in Vermont should have access to snow sports regardless of academic ability or their family’s income,” stated Tracy Taylor, director of operations for Pico Mountain. “We are truly excited to offer all Vermont students the opportunity to experience skiing and snowboarding this winter at Pico Mountain, and we look forward to another great season.”

For the 2012-13 winter season, lift hours will be 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays, and 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. weekends and peak days.

*All passes are subject to 7% Vermont State and local tax. Some restrictions apply.

About Pico Mountain:
Celebrating its 75th Anniversary, in 1937 on Thanksgiving morning, a legend was born: Pico Mountain Ski Resort. Although it was humbly equipped with only a 1,200’ rope tow powered by a Hudson motor car engine, skiers – true skiers – loved it. No other big mountain has so much quaint charm. Since then a lot has changed. But the love that began seventy-five years ago for this mountain still lives today, and it’s as strong as ever.  Families and skiing traditionalists now enjoy 52 trails and the Triple Slope Terrain Park serviced by seven lifts, including two high-speed detachable quads. www.PicoMountain.com.
