Community Day celebration at Sugarbush packs fun and entertainment for the whole family, even the dog.

Warren, VT (September 26, 2012) - Community Day, Sugarbush Resort's celebration of autumn in Vermont, is not your ordinary October festival. The celebration, packed with fun for the entire family, is on October 6th and takes place in and around Lincoln Peak Village at Sugarbush Resort.

The day kicks off with complimentary cheese, apples, cider, and coffee from 9 AM - 11 AM at the Sunrise Café in the Farmhouse. Meanwhile kids activities begin with Free Adventure Camps with activities like bungee trampoline, lift rides, mountain biking, zipline and more. Check-in for the free camps (ages 5 and up) is at the Schoolhouse at 9:45 AM. Additionally, John Egan is hosting a free bike clinic for kids of all ages from 1 - 3 PM.

From 10 AM - 2 PM the first ever "Rev it Up" show featuring some exciting machinery takes place in the parking lot. Groomers, fire trucks, a dune buggy and a racecar are on hand for kids to get up close and personal with. A donation of $5 per family collected supports the Sugarbush Day School Toy and Scholarship Fund. There is also a pumpkin carving contest and face painting for the whole family.

An exposition by Sugarbush's partners, including Ski Portillo, is from 12 - 4 PM in the courtyard at Lincoln Peak Village. Ski Portillo, Chile's leading ski resort, is offering special packages and offers for Sugarbush passholders and Clay Brook owners. Attendees can enter to win an all-inclusive ski trip to Portillo, Chile in the summer of 2013. Additional partners in attendance are the United States Forest Service, Sugarbush Health and Racquet Club, Sugarbush Resort Real Estate and Graves Realty.

Sugarbush Executive Chef Gerry Nooney is curating a localvore barbecue in the courtyard from 11 AM - 3 PM. Gerry is also hosting a free cooking demonstration, "Creative Cooking with Apples," in the Gate House from 12 - 1 PM.

A perennial favorite, the guided Dog-Friendly Hike is a great opportunity to strut your mutt from 1 - 3 PM. A representative from the United States Forest Service is guiding a foliage hike from 12:30 - 1:30 PM with information on local vegetation, invasive species and forest ecosystems.

President of Sugarbush Win Smith's annual presentation and Sugarbush update is at 10 AM in the Gate House Lodge. Live music performances from the Funk Collection on the Timbers veranda and Tammy Fletcher in Castlerock Pub begin at 11 AM and 3 PM respectively. Castlerock Pub is open from 11 AM - 8 PM, serving food and a large selection of Vermont craft beers, including Oktoberfest favorites. The Sugarbush Adventure Gear Shop is featuring a 20% off sale on selected new arrivals for those looking to gear up for winter.

The Vermont Institute of Natural Sciences is hosting Birds of Prey Demonstration in the Schoolhouse from 3 - 4 PM. The performance costs $12 for adults and $7 for children 12 and under. A viewing of Warren Miller Entertainment's Like There's No Tomorrow, with a special offer and introduction by Ski Portillo is in the Schoolhouse at 4:30 PM.
