JEFFERSONVILLE, Vt.

Families looking for winter fun flock to Smugglers’ Notch Resort to enjoy skiing and riding on three mountains, as well as snowshoeing and cross country skiing. The resort’s extensive onslope and offslope activities include snowtubing and flying through the trees on a 3- or 6-line zip line canopy tour.

Over the Presidents’ Day holiday week, there’s even more fun to be had. Guests can sample Vermont’s delicious specialty foods at a free tasting on February 22 and enjoy many special family activities at the FamilyFun Magazine Winter Carnival with games, entertainment, giveaways and barbecue on February 23. On the evening of the 23rd, Snow Sport University instructors light up the mountainside with a dramatic torchlight parade, followed by fireworks against the backdrop of the Green Mountains.

Vacation stays of six nights will receive the seventh night free during the Presidents’ Day holiday week (February 17-23, 2012). Rates per night start at $169 per youth and $199 per adult during the holiday week.

Smugglers’ offers three winter vacation packages that feature the following popular inclusions: mountainside condominium lodging; daily lift tickets; snow tubing; ice skating; use of the indoor pool and hot tub, Nordic and snowshoe terrain, indoor FunZone, and teen centers; and family and adult entertainment.

The Base package responds to the interests of families who want a ski-and-stay experience, with the above inclusions.

The Classic Package adds value by including the resort’s renowned onslope instructional programs for children, with all day ski or snowboard camp for ages 3-5 and two-hour group lessons for ages 6-17 as part of the package.

The Summit Package features the above inclusions plus Snow Sport University instructional programs for the entire family - all-day ski or snowboard camp for ages 3-5 and two-hour group lessons for ages 6 through adult.

The Classic and Summit packages also include free child care for little ones ages 6 weeks to 3 years old at the Resort’s slopeside center Treasures and discounts on all-day ski or snowboard instruction programs for ages 6-15 and rental equipment for ages 3-15. (www.smuggs.com, 1-800-451-8752).
