BOLTON, Vt.

Bolton Valley again will participate in Ski Vermont’s learn to ski or ride program. Beginning Dec. 16, beginners can sign up for a $29 learn to ski or ride package that includes a lift ticket, lesson and rental equipment at Bolton. Beginners must sign up at www.skivermont.com prior to arriving at Bolton.

The Burton Learn To Ride program at Bolton Valley, which began in 2006, combines advanced equipment, teaching techniques and learning environments for first-timers, using Burton-specific learn to ride snowboards that are soft and forgiving. For those who are ready to take their talents to the next level there is the Cruzers program for progressing freeriders and Dominants for progressing freestylers.

The Burton Progression Park is another source for aspiring snowboarders. The park is designed to take the park newbie and introduce them to standard park features in a progressive format—starting on small features where basic skills can be taught and then progressing as one improves to the larger features.

Traditional lessons for both adults and children are available from the Bolton Valley Ski School as well. Bolton Valley's ski and ride school provides student-centered, guest-oriented and outcome-based lessons that promote safety, fun, and learning. Lessons are the best way for beginners, both kids and adults, to be introduced to the sport. Advanced skiers and riders can take advantage of lessons to hone existing skills and acquire new ones. For rates and more information visit www.boltonvalley.com.
