In partnership with the Mountain Top Nordic Ski Club, Tippmann and TOKO, Mountaun Top will host the seventh Annual Paintball Biathlon. As in the past two years, the interest and increased participation requires the event to span two full days. The high school and adult division will take place one day; the Bill Koch Youth Ski League division will compete the next day. Pre-registration is required by the deadline of Thursday, January 19, 2011. 12th Annual Nationally Sanctioned Ice Carving Competition, Stowe Mountain

The country’s best amateur and professional Ice Carvers compete by creating frozen masterpieces in the Spruce Peak Plaza at the base of Stowe Mountain Resort. The nationally sanctioned National Association of Ice Carvers (NICA) event comes at the conclusion of Stowe’s week-long Winter Carnival, an annual celebration that’s been happening since 1922. The family that skis together stays together … and that goes for racing too. The Okemo Family Race Giant Slalom is a great excuse to break out those race skis and speed suits. Prizes will be awarded to the top finishers in several age brackets. This is a perfect event for a little neighborhood rivalry or family feud. Registration will take place in the Okemo Clock Tower base lodge from 8:00-10:00 a.m.; racing runs from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Awards will be presented at 3:00 p.m., in front of the Sitting Bull. Parents must be present to register children under 18 and helmets are required. This event is open to skiers and snowboarders of all ages and ability levels.
10th Annual Tubbs Romp to Stomp Out Breast Cancer, Stratton Mountain Resort

Stowe Derby

The Stowe Derby is the oldest and original downhill cross-country race in North America. It started in 1945 as a personal challenge between two amazing skiers- Austrian, Sepp Ruschp and Erling Strom, world famous mountaineer from Norway. The challenge was the same as it is today - a race from the top of Mt. Mansfield, Vermont's highest peak to the historic village of Stowe.Today, the race attracts more than 800 competitors, for 20km of challenging terrain, racing down Mt. Mansfield's Toll Road and along the entire length of the Stowe Recreation Path before reaching the finish in the village.
