Ski Vermont Partners with RED & Anon to Promote Vermont’s Winter Lifestyle

MONTPELIER, Vt.

Vermont-based Anon Optics and RED Protection brands will headline the 2011-12 season as the Official Goggles and Helmets of Ski Vermont. Together, Ski Vermont, anon Optics and RED Protection will reach out to millions of winter enthusiasts from around the globe looking for the authentic winter experience Vermont has to offer.

“anon & RED share our commitment to fun, high quality and diverse winter experiences on the slopes, in the deep backcountry and at the après party,” Ski Vermont Marketing Director Jason Gibbs said. “We want everyone to be comfortable, safe and fired up to be outdoors in the winter—with the ultimate goal of riding and skiing bigger, longer and more often. That’s why this partnership is such a natural fit.”

“We are pleased to be working with our partners at Ski Vermont to enhance the appeal of Vermont’s world renowned winter lifestyle to a larger, younger and more diverse audience,” said Randy Torcom, brand manager for RED and anon. “And we’re excited about introducing our products to many more riders who share our passion for winter.”

The partnership includes social media campaigns, media events, trade shows, print/web collateral and other special events—all with an emphasis on honoring the rider-centric niches of RED and anon and the value and authenticity of the Vermont winter brand as a whole. Other key ingredients of this partnership are the mutual endorsements of safety and initiatives aimed at expanding the number of snowboarders and skiers -- priorities across the snow sports industry.

For example, during January Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month, Ski Vermont will highlight RED and anon in its “Gear Up for Winter Fun” activities.  Ski Vermont will also offer a “Welcome to Winter” program that features offers for discounted gear, apparel, and other bonus items that enhance a first timer’s experience. The Fifth Grade Passport, a free youth program, will encourage kids to wear a helmet and organizations like PHAT (Protect Your Head at All Times) and the NSAA Lids on Kids will be incorporated into messaging.
