Alice's Table
(Jay, VT)- Renowned wine maker and Hook and Ladder Winery president Michael De Loach will host the Wine Makers’ Dinner at Jay Peak Resort on Friday, April 8th. The evening will feature six wines paired with items from the Alice’s Table menu and will include conversations with the wine maker.
De Loach’s family has been in the wine business for more than 30 years. His father Cecil founded De Loach Vineyards after retiring from the San Francisco Fire Department. While Sonoma County has always been known as being a part of California’s “Wine Country”, the De Loach label was instrumental in establishing the county’s Russian River Valley as a premiere wine-producing region. The family sold the De Loach Vineyard brand in 2003 and went on to found the Hook and Ladder Winery, named to honor Cecil’s years on a fire truck. Hook and Ladder wines have won numerous gold medals at international wine competitions around the world.
“It’s going to be a fun evening with a lot of good food, and a lot of good wine,” said JJ Toland, the resort’s Director of Communications and Events. “(Chefs) John Carter and Trevor Trottier have put together a great menu and we’re looking forward learning a thing or two about wine from Michael.”
The dinner will be held in the resort’s Alice’s Table restaurant and begins at 6:30 PM. Tickets are $55 a person and can be purchased by calling the Tram Haus Lodge at 802-327-2500.
