“Some of our member resorts are telling us that families and individuals are making significant changes to their vacations because of the Ski Vermont Insider application. It’s a fun and engaging way for skiers and riders to get the most from their mountain experience at their favorite resorts, to maybe try new activities and restaurants, or even visit resorts they haven’t been to before,” said Kathy Murphy, Director of Marketing for Vermont Ski Areas Association (Ski Vermont).
Ski Vermont Insider is a digital application that launched in early January and is fast becoming a must-have for snow enthusiasts throughout the Northeast. It alerts users when it is snowing at their favorite resorts, offers exclusive discounts on skiing, lodging and dining, and provides rewards for actions like using Ski Vermont’s official ring tone, “Let it Snow”. Users can also take fun fact quizzes and earn special rewards and prizes.
Stratton Mountain’s skiers and riders can take advantage of select mid-week deals and receive two-for-one lift tickets, ski rental discounts, or a free night of lodging with the purchase of two nights. “Ski Vermont Insider gives our guests another way to save while enjoying one of the most spectacular seasons in recent memory—we’ve had more than 10 feet of snow since the end of December,” said Myra Foster, Senior Manager of Marketing and Communications for Stratton Mountain Resort.
Ski Vermont works with Insider Network to develop the organization’s “Ski Vermont Insider” program. Insider Network’s proprietary patent-pending technologies recognize smart phone users by geographic location, allowing participating resorts and local businesses to give current skiers and riders the information they want, when they want it, in a fun and interactive platform.
“We’re excited to roll out our new technologies with a great partner in Ski Vermont. It’s an exciting time for skiers and riders, as they can now take advantage of exclusive deals and rewards designed just for them. Think of Ski Vermont Insider as your personal concierge for the best of what you love about skiing and riding in Vermont; you’ll receive exclusive offers for doing what you love, where you love it. Plus you can win a 2011-2012 season pass to your favorite participating Vermont Ski Area,” said Chuck Taylor, Co-founder of Insider Network and Saugatuck Media.
To become an Insider, skiers and riders can access the Ski Vermont Insider application online or via a free mobile application that can be downloaded for the Android smart phone. They can scan a QR code, text SkiVt to 25827 or search for Ski Vermont Insider in the Android Market. Application QR codes can be found on participating resort trail maps, resort Web sites, www.skivermont.com and on Facebook. Users can elect to receive messages from their favorite participating Vermont Ski Areasand willbe entered to win a free 2011-2012 season pass. Other smart phone users will soon be able to use Ski Vermont Insider and Insider Network expects to launch next on the iPhone.
