Get Stowked at Stowe Mountain Resort

STOWE, Vt.

Stowe Mountain Resort, in conjunction with Meathead Films, is proud to present the 'Stowked' series of movies. Each year starting back in 2005, the talented and emerging filmmakers set out to depict what makes Stowe among the most special eastern mountain resorts in North America. Each film tells the stories of unique individuals who call Stowe either their home, or home away from home. Every person and story is filled with a sense of adventure and passion for the mountain lifestyle. All five original short-feature films are available for viewing and free download at www.stowked.com.

This year’s new film, ‘Get Stowked,’ is the fifth consecutive documentary film by the now established ski-filmmakers Geoff MacDonald and Chris James. Set again amidst the spectacular setting of Stowe Mountain Resort, the short feature follows the theme of past films by chronicling Stowe devotees at work and play. One segment features the University of Vermont (UVM) Ski Team, dominant for decades with longest regional winning streak in NCAA history. Other stories include Dave Merriam - one of only the four Ski School Directors in the resorts 75 year history, Nelson Riley – a young local of legendary status who has never lost a weekly ‘Ski Bum Race,’ Snowboarding Coaches - Mike Toohey & Sam Lukens, and a newlywed couple who capture the romantic side of Stowe’s world-class allure.
