Ski and Ride for a World with less Cancer

JAY & BOLTON, Vt.

The American Cancer Society launches Hope on the Slopes at Jay Peak on March 6 and returns to Bolton Valley on March 12. This downhill skiing and snowboarding event gives everyone in our region a chance to help the organization save lives and create a world with less cancer and more birthdays while competing in a vertical challenge. Register your team today by visiting hopeontheslopesvt.com or by calling 866-466-0626.

Participants have the choice to be part of a team or to register as an individual. Former and current cancer patients, those who have lost a loved one to cancer, families, businesses, faith-based and civic organizations, and anyone wanting to make a difference in the fight against cancer are invited to take part in this exciting event.

Hope on the Slopes began in Washington State seven years ago and today there are only eleven of these events in the United States. The goal for teams is an endurance one of keeping at least one member on the mountain trails at all times throughout the event hours. Participants do most of their fundraising prior to the event and receive a personal online fundraising page. A $30 registration fee per person is required and each participant will receive a free lift ticket for the event by raising $100 or more.

The American Cancer Society combines an unyielding passion with nearly a century of experience to save lives and end suffering from cancer. As the nation’s largest non-governmental investor in cancer research, contributing about $3.4 billion, we turn what we know about cancer into what we do. As a result, more than 11 million people in America who have had cancer and countless more who have avoided it will be celebrating birthdays this year. To learn more about us or to get help, call us anytime, day or night, at 1-800-227-2345 or visit cancer.org.
