SMUGGLERS' NOTCH, Vt.
In January, winter vacation packages at Smugglers’ Notch Resort feature the lowest rates of the season, starting at $79 per youth and $109 per adult per night. These rates can also be enjoyed over the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday weekend by booking a stay of five nights or longer (valid for arrivals January 12-16, 2011).
Smugglers’ winter vacation packages give families the choice of a ski-and-stay package, a package that includes onslope instruction for children ages 3-17, or a package that offers instruction for the entire family. Each vacation package includes mountainside condominium lodging; daily lift tickets; snow tubing; ice skating; use of the indoor pool and hot tub, Nordic and snowshoe terrain, indoor FunZone with climbing inflatables, and teen centers; and family and adult entertainment.
Smugglers’ family programs have received top ranking from readers of SKI Magazine for twelve years. There are activities for all ages and interests, including the thrill of sliding down the slope on inflated Airboard sleds, day and evening dogsledding, and exploring the woods on a guided snowshoe walk that ends with a delicious cup of hot cider at the Nordic Center. New this season is the Resort’s zipline canopy tour, featuring 8 ziplines, two suspension bridges and two rappels offering a breath-taking descent through stands of hemlock, white birch and sugar maple with beautiful forest and mountain views. Resort guests receive a 10 percent discount on the zipline canopy tour. (www.smuggs.com)
